Everyone must have heard the phrase “nothing is perfect.” The phrase is of course very true and it is universal. It holds good even for operating systems. When Microsoft’s Windows is perhaps the least safe operating system, partly because it is also the most commonly used OS, and iOS is arguably the safest mobile operating system.
Even iOS, after all the restrictions and safe guards put in by Apple is not perfect though. There are a few glitches here and there that get discovered from time to time. One of the most well known and useful bug or glitch is in the iOS mobile Safari. It is because of this glitch that Comex, the developer of JailbreakMe.com, could develop the easiest method to jailbreak iDevices. All these glitches are patched up in a very short time, but new glitches keep appearing as the old ones are fixed.
Here are a couple of glitches which are found in the Safari mobile browser. The links to these were posted on Twitter by Comex. These glitches are small ones with no harmful effects. They are not useful in any way either. These are just glitches which will provide you with a few light moments.
The first one is facetime-accept://*. This link when accessed from Mobile Safari will launch a fake FaceTime call. It will even let you customize the caller’s name. You just have to replace the ‘*’ with what ever name you want. The link will work only on devices which support FaceTime.
The second one is tellock:// This glitch does a strange thing. It immediately sends you to your iDevices lock screen. The only difference is that this ‘lock screen’ is not locked. You can ‘unlock’ it by just pressing the home button.
These glitches were mere playthings, but occasionally, some major glitches do appear, and lets hope that it first comes to the notice of a developer and not a hacker.
