RedSn0w jailbreaks iOS 5.0.1

iOS 5.0.1 beta jailbreak uisng Redsn0w

You might already have got the news that Apple released the next update to iOS already. Called the iOS 5.0.1, Apple released the beta version of this to developers today. The beta is said to fix a few bugs, and also the battery issues that we had discussed last week. The battery issue is supposed to be because of the OS changing the time zone automatically and very frequently. This is said to have been draining a lot of battery. So we might actually see some improvement in this.

Also, if you are a jailbreaker, I am pretty sure that you have been waiting all along to get the new beta version of on your device. Well, there is a good new. The jailbreak team, the Dev Team, MuscleNerd, who is the front man of the Dev Team, the latest version of the RedSn0w jailbreak tool that they have released is able to jailbreak the iOS 5.0.1 beta that has been released today.

But before you proceed, there are a few more things you need to know. The latest version of the RedSn0w jailbreak is tethered jailbreak only. This means that you will need your computer or Mac to restart or reboot your iPhone or iPad when you have the need to, or if your iPhone’s or iPad’s battery drains out completely. If it had been untethere jailbreak, it would have rebooted normally.

Also, the latest version version of the RedSn0w jailbreak tool does not yet support the new iPhone 4S and the iPad 2. So you can play with the jailbreak and the new iOS 5.0.1 beta version only on your iPhone 4 and your iPad first gen.

Hope this works for you. If you did this, let us know how it worked.
