If you are TV fan and love streaming live TV on your iPad, then you must be for sure aware of the services such as Time Warner’s and DirecTV ‘s iPad live streaming. You can stream live TV for free on your iPad if you are on the same network as the service is initiated on. So, if you are connected to the same network as your DirecTV HD DVR is, then you can completely freely stream certain channels on your iPad.
But recently, Time Warner released a patch for its iPad app which blocks jailbroken iPads from streaming live TV. And very recently, DirecTV also followed the idea. So, if you are using a jailbroken iPad and are trying to stream live TV off DirecTV, you will be flashed a warning messaging saying that you have jailbroken your iPad and hence, DirecTV will not be supported on it. And that is the end.
The word on the block is that the TV services are doing it because on jailbroken devices, you have the option of recording live TV and then using it for illegal purposes, such as uploading it on the internet or watching it offline. But is there no way to get rid of this? Well, you are lucky, because now there is a solution, finally.
A new DirecTV iPad Patch has been released to the Cydia App Store which you can download from free to your iPad. Once installed, you will never know that you had streaming issues from DirecTV on your jailbroken iPad. If you were holding your self off from updating the app, you can do it now with full confidence, as the patch has been rated as working from its users.
